Add to my Page I have added my podcast here because after many attempts I cannot get Gcast to accept our screen name and password.  I hope this is okay. I am going to sign up for my own Gcast log in. Jerrie has been an amazing, informative and available instructor. I will use all of the tools both personally and professionally. I have gained so much knowledge and Jerrie made it fun and so detailed that most sites and activities were easy to navigate. I am so thankful for this class. The picture on my blog was taken, by  me, in south Louisiana. It is of a sun setting on Preion Lake. The sun will set on the day, but education will shine through us as teachers to our students. Happy teaching and learning.

Ok. I am a member of Classroom 2.0, Ning Education and Ning. It was cool. I signed up for Classroom 2.0 first and when I signed up for Ning it recognized me! I love Ning Education. It is going to be great to communicate with fellow educators! It was easy to set up my page. There were a lot of verifications for security so I felt safe. I like that I have a space to create my own blog within Ning Education. I can’t wait to share this with my fellow teachers. I did find a twitter about Internet Safety K-8 that was interesting. I can’t wait to go back and see all of the info, comments and discussions. If any of you signed up also I would love to keep in touch! I am not too sure how to navigate the site Ning. It seemed bare???? I feel that you set up a network and invite other members. If that is the case I think it would be a great tool for grade level teachers and have another network for all teachers.  I have to talk about Classroom 2.0. I Love Love Love it. It is an amazing resource. There is a forum doing the Polar Express (and so are we) and they want collaboration!!! This is awesome.

I read my Google reader everyday. I even printed out a couple of articles, that I read, to refer to in an interview. (I did get the job!)  Techlearnning announced today a Web 2.0 Special Education Curriculum. I added Delicious to my google reader! I love my reader!

Oh my goodness! I love pageflakes. I know that it had to be programmed by a woman. It is everything I need or would ever want! It was easy to add to. I added one of the rss feeds from my reader. (My favorite!) Pageflakes is my new homepage! I added my facebook account and my email. That is 3 less steps to check everyday. It is an immediate update. Huge plus there is a task list always showing and a calculator. No more accessing accessories to get to a calculator! You know you can identify! In the classroom I could make a Pagecast as a news update for my parents to access!!! Awesome communication and information tool. I think it would be cool to upload video podcasts if the children and classroom learning. I will explore making a pageflake that is not personal to me and make it a pagecast.

I love Google Docs. It almost makes me sad that I bought a laptop and a flash drive to transfer information to and from computers! This is awesome. Side wiki popped up on my toolbar soooooo I added it. It creates a wiki and I think it adds to a blog comments and information about what you created in Google Docs. If I am wrong please let me know. I will be playing with this soon! I love the presentation idea. Teachers can view your presentation ahead of the meeting and have questions prepared! I love the shared feature of the document! Grade level teachers can work together on a letter to be sent home about a field trip!  The spreadsheet could be used to get the students interests and information during the first week of school. You could send one to the parents to get their perspective and expectations of you as the teacher.  This will build technology confidence! I uploaded a document and it was able to be edited!!!! This is great!

I am not a fan of You Tube because of the uncertainty of what might pop up! I did not realize that there was a safe search. I love it! I found two videos. The first one I found was Be A Great Teacher. This is about a wonderful leader and teacher and blessed students. I also did a video search on voice threading. I was just wondering if there was a different way???? The video showed the same thing, with a different voice, as how we were shown! You Tube is shown for the other online class I am taking. I think it is awesome, in that since, because everytime we pulled up the You Tube lesson there were coordinating videos listed! The “how to” video that I looked at was How To Knit. I tagged it on Delicious and I think I might learn to knit on Christmas break! The fun video was Dachshund – Cute 6 Week Old Puppies! I have two dachshunds and they kept looking for the puppies!!! :)   The Teacher Tube video that I viewed was called Technology Fear Factor In Education. It is about teaching our students and informing them about technology. There is a teacher at my school that is talking about weather in her class. She video taped the class singing a song about erosion. I talked to her about sharing it on Teacher Tube! This might encourage other teacher to share their learning styles.

Ok. I am an I Pod user! I love podcasts. My husband love podcasts also. We are campers and we subscribe to a camping podcast and Dave Ramsey’s podcast. It is cool on I tunes, when you plug in your I pod and sync the program will take off the podcasts that you have listened to and load the newest pod casts. It is awesome. I actually loaded 1st grade Maple audiobooks! It was on EPN Education Podcast Network. I also listened to The teacher’s podcast virtual wrap up.  I subscribed to Jean Michael Cousteau’s video podcast from PBS. This will be awesome in the classroom. The information and awesome, colorful video will be interesting. I did like the variety of PBS podcasts. The is a third grade teacher doing a unit on the weather. I think it would be awesome for her class to do podcasts about the different aspects of the weather!

I love books! We just moved from Georgia to South Carolina and I felt so sorry for the movers. They had to carry one fourth of the boxes to our third floor storage. Guess what was in the boxes! Books!!! I think I am going to have to subscribe to Library Thing. I love christian fiction. Doing the recommended sear hes and a few other searches when you type in a title or author a recommendation is actually made for other books and authors! I love it! I would love to catalog all of our books. Teacher may use it to catalog the books they have in their classroom. Some teachers lend books. This might help keep inventory. It would also help with planning of what to read with a particular topic.

Delicious is delicious! I love the idea that I can do searches at home for the classroom then pull them up on my laptop at school! How awesome. I really like delicious. It is like incorporating all of the work of like minded teachers and sharing. It is great! Signing up for delicious was rather confusing. I ended up using a yahoo sign on and it works just as well. I am going to continue to play around! I did manage my tags. How fun. I even did an rss feed to my Google reader. I cannot live without my Google reader! Here is the link to my delicious account!

I love my google reader. I feel that we are attached at the hip. I do read it daily. I do not feel overwhelmed. I have cleared out what I have read and kept what I would like to reread and research. Something interesting that I have found is Teaching PreK-8.  This website offers tons of ideas that appear on my google reader daily. Some ideas come from other countries. It awesome to see what they are doing and compare it to what we do. With this blog you can comment and contribute your own ideas! Enjoy!
